RoleExciting opportunity to join Kalmar Maghreb as Automation Engineer. Reporting to Automation Project Manager and working as part of a team responsible of the implementation and testing of Kalmar intelligent shuttle carrier system to Tangier TM2 Terminal in Morocco.Key accountabilities

  • On-site testing and implementation of new functionalities and automation components
  • Day to day communication towards the customer and Kalmar head office in all automation related activities.
  • Ensuring that all testing documentation is completed and stored according to the contract requirements
  • Solve problems with automation systems and have capability to isolate problem sources. Have ability to sort issues, according to priority of whole fleet level advantages. Understand causal connections between various systems, automation HW and SW components.
  • Analysis and solving of all automation related issues and problems with the support of site team and back office experts, including issue reporting using provided toolset.
  • Train customer, colleagues and substitutes with automation related issues and supervises automation work executed by subcontractors at site.
  • Coordinate actions with other stakeholders at the site.
  • Responsible for securing own and co-workers’ safety and health with all possible means.
  • Respond and supervise and tightly adhere to all Kalmar HSE practices and rules

  • Position requires documentation, management and communication skills and expertise in the field of automation and related products. Work includes overall understanding of the whole Semi/Fully-automated shuttle fleet level automation systems and acting in the key role in all project automation activities on-site.
  • Degree Electrical / Automation Engineering (i.e. BSc)
  • Ability for independent troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Solid general or preferably expert level knowledge of information technology and networks for automation products.
  • Knowledge of container handling vehicles is considered as a benefit
  • Ability to learn and develop yourself to become an expert in the field of automated container handling equipment
  • Self-motivated to work in a challenging environment for finding solutions and improvements
  • Team player
  • Diligent way of working

  • Role will start in the delivery phase of the project and the commissioning specialist will work as a member of the site team. As a part of the team, your responsibilities would be to carry out the commissioning and testing of the semi-automated and automated container handling machines, component configuration, documentation and problem solving throughout the whole fleet level. You would hold solid knowledge of electrical systems, PLC and drives to be and become even better expert on your field of work.

  • Degree Electrical / Automation Engineering (i.e. BSc)

  • Solid knowledge of electrical systems, capable to read and understand electrical circuit diagrams, of PLC (Omron), drives, profibus systems etc. Background in other control components, absolute/incremental encoders, etc. are considered as a benefit;
  • Ability for independent troubleshooting, problem solving and carry out electrical works
  • Understanding of mechanics and hydraulics are considered as a benefit
  • Fluent written and spoken English and French
  • General understanding of modern ICT technology and automation is a benefit
  • Possibility to travel

RoleExciting opportunity to join Kalmar Maghreb as Site Manager. Incumbent is responsible for the success of the site operation and Safety at Tangier TM2, reports the costs, schedule, progress, problems and omissions to the Project Director.Key accountabilities

  • Deliver subproject plan with minimum scope, WBS structure, schedule, critical path, milestone, risk list, reporting structure and budget.
  • Implement project plan by following/updating, coordinating, managing, supporting and reporting.
  • Actual, budgeted and forecasted costs according to the plan with agreed WBSs
  • Site scope, schedule, quality and deliverables
  • Mitigate and escalate (to Project Director) possible plan deviations immediately.
  • See the complete picture of the site operations and take actions to reduce bottlenecks and improve the operations.
  • Negotiate with the customer and subcontractors / suppliers about the day-to-day operations, problems and possible change requests (extra work, repair work etc).
  • Maintain good communication (frequent, open, honest, respectful dialogue with all the groups on and off the site).
  • Lead, coach and manage the site team
  • Is responsible of the HSE, risk assessments and method statements on site
  • Setup, lead and manage warehouse and material flow at / to site.
  • Find and report places and areas for continuous improvement and give inputs to PD and BL.
